Windows for Women

The other day, I was taking a visiting pastor for a tour around our campus and we ran into one of the women who is a participant in our New Faith Program. She is nearing the end of her stay with us and was excited about what God has done in her life just in the past year. She will be attending college in the fall with the goal of becoming a Certified Addiction Counselor (CAC). Her face was brimming with anticipation and hope, a far cry from when she first came to us addicted and broken. She continued talking about how all of our program women met in the warehouse that is to be the new home of the New Faith Program. The 40,000 square foot building will house all program offices, 14 apartments for program participants as well as a large kitchen, craft room, lounge, recreation area and a rooftop garden patio.

The program women and staff met and prayed in front of the only brand new window in the entire building – the first of 125 custom windows needed throughout the building that will cost $1,000 each.

As we were talking to this young woman, I was thinking about how symbolic these windows are as they will provide sunlight and protection for our women and children – Jesus does the same thing for us. He is our light and protection from evil and eternal darkness. And as the warehouse gradually transforms into the temporary home of women who were formerly dejected, defeated and cast aside, may they feel His loving arms comforting and protecting them.

So please pray with us that we will be able to raise the necessary funds to put in real, tangible windows for the women and children in our New Faith Program. Pray also that God will open windows of blessing for them and that He will light their paths as they move forward.

If you’d like to give a brand new, energy efficient window for our new women’s building, please visit our secure donate page.

And, as always, thank you.

Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.” ~Malachi 3:10
